Governing Council

The CIS is governed by a council of 27 members. The Governing Council has overall responsibility for the administration and general management of the Institute. It is empowered to do anything which in its opinion is calculated to facilitate the carrying on of the activities of the Institute. This consists of elected, appointed and ex-officio members.

The statutory composition of the council is as follows:

    1. The President of the Institute (who is also the Chairman of the Council)
    2. Two Vice-Presidents
    3. A representative of the Securities and Exchange Commission
    4. A representative of the Nigerian Stock Exchange
    5. Two representatives of the Banker’s Committee
    6. Twelve elected members of the Institute
    7. Two persons representing institutions of higher learning in Nigeria
    8. A representative each of the following Ministries:
      • Finance
      • Education and
      • Women Affairs and Youth Development
    1. Past Presidents of the Institute (to serve for a maximum period of three years from the expiration of their terms of office as President)

Meet The Council Members

The Governing Council of CIS is composed of distinguished and seasoned professionals including the following:

Mr. O. M. Amolegbe, FCS - President & Chairman of Council

Mr. Amolegbe is the President & Chairman of Council, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.

He is a Fellow of the Institute with well over years of cognitive industry practice. He obtained a B.Sc and MBA from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State and also has an M.Sc (Corporate Finance) from University of Liverpool, U.K. He is also an Associate of the Certified Pensions Institute.

He comes with vast cognate experience in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Asset/Portfolio Management, Securities Trading and Investment Analysis & Research. He has worked in many reputable organisation such as IMB Securities PLC(Subsidiary of IMB PLC),Securities Solutions Limited(Subsidiary of FSB International Bank) ,FCMB Pension Managers Ltd(Formerly Legacy Pensions PFA).

He is presently the MD/CEO of Arthur Steven Asset Management Limited.

He is happily married with children

Mr. O. O. Adeosun, FCS - 1st Vice President

MR. OLUWOLE OLOLADE ADEOSUN is the Managing Director /Chief Executive Officer of Chartwell Securities Limited. Chartwell Securities Limited is registered by the Securities and Exchange Commission as a Broker/Dealer firm and an Issuing House. He was the Chief Executive Officer of Intercontinental Securities Limited from 2000 -2007. Prior to this, he held various senior positions in Intercontinental Bank Plc between 1991 and 2000 as Head Corporate Finance; Group Head, Investment Banking and Group Head, Corporate Banking. As a capital market professional, he was involved in the packaging and execution of major capital raising issues, mergers and acquisition mandates and debt conversion transactions in the Nigerian capital market before and after the universal banking era.

He served as a pioneer member of the Governing Council of the Federal Government promoted Abuja Securities Exchange (now National Commodity Exchange) from 2005-2007. He is an active participant in the affairs of Association of Stockbroking Houses of Nigeria and serve on its Legal and Market Development & Technical Committees.

He was elected a Council Member of The Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers in April 2014 and re -elected in April 2017 and serves on several committees notably as Chairman of the Continuous Professional Development Committee, Finance Committee, CIS Building Renovation Committee ; Member of The Education Committee and  Disciplinary Tribunal. He served as the Institute’s 2nd Vice President between April 2018&May 2020 and was recently elected in May 2020 as the 1st Vice President.

He serves on the Boards of several companies in and outside Nigeria as Director/Partner – Chartwell Financial Services Ltd; Chartwell Bureau De Change Ltd; Chartwell BDC (UK) Ltd; Chartwell Hub (UK) Ltd; Chartwell Partners (Chartered Accountants); DESWOL Limited.

He was elected a National Council Member of The Nigerian Stock Exchange in September 2017 and has served on several Committees of The National Council – Quotations Committee, Governance & Remuneration Committee , Regulations Committee and the Disciplinary Committee of The Exchange  He currently serves on the Audit & Risk Management Committee and the Technical & Business Committee of The Nigerian Stock Exchange. He was appointed a Non-Executive Director of the Nigerian Exchange Plc, the holding company of the demutualised Nigerian Stock Exchange in March 2020. He is a member of the Capital Markets Committee (CMC) of The Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria (SEC).

He is a 1982 product of the prestigious Loyola College, Ibadan and obtained a B.Sc. (Hons) Business Administration degree in 1986 from the University of Ilorin. He worked in First Bank of Nigeria Plc between 1986 and 1987 during his service year. He joined Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterHouseCoopers) in October 1988 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in May 1991 and thereafter proceeded to the University of Lagos for the Executive MBA (Finance) program which he completed in 1993. He was at the prestigious New York Institute of Finance in 1999 for the flagship United States Capital Markets program. He enrolled for the elite Lagos Business School Chief Executives Program (CEP15) which he completed in May 2006.

He holds a Multiple Professional Registration Status with the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria and is a Fellow of the following professional bodies – The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Institute of Directors of Nigeria.He is a member of the Society for Corporate Governance, Nigeria. He is a member of Ikoyi Club 1938 and The Lagos Country Club.

Mr. O.S. Dada, FCS - 2nd Vice President

Mr. Dada is an accomplished stockbroker and banker. He is an authorised Dealing Clerk of The Nigerian Stock Exchange, as well as Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. He graduated from Leeds Business School of Leeds, Metropolitan University, United Kingdom where he obtained a Masters Degree in Corporate Governance.

He was at the University of Lagos between 1985 and 1988 where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. His work’s experience covers Stock broking, Issuing House Activities, Credit Appraisal, Accounting, Investment Advisory services, and General Administration. He is an alumnus of three top-rated business schools: Gordon Institute of Business Science, University of Pretoria, South Africa, New York Institute of Finance, New York, United States of America and Leeds Business School,United Kingdom.

Prior to this time, Mr. Dada was a member of Senior Management staff of Marina International Bank Limited/Access Bank Plc, where he was seconded to Marina Securities Limited now Coronation Securities Limited  to function as General Manager and Chief Operating Officer.

Mr Dada is currently working as the Managing Director/ Chief Executive Officer of Network Capital Limited, a dealing member firm of The Nigerian Stock Exchange.

Mr. A. D. Ajadi, FCS - Registrar/Chief Executive & Secretary of Council

Adedeji holds Masters Degrees in Finance & Investment (Exeter, UK) and Agric Economics (Ibadan, Nigeria) in addition to Bachelors’ Degrees in Applied Accounting (Oxford Brookes, UK) and Agric Extension & Rural Sociology (Ife, Nigeria).

His 26+ years of professional work experience cuts across banking, management consulting, accounting, auditing and administration. Among other trail-brazing career highlights, he pioneered the operations of the Ile-Ife branch of Chartered Bank Plc in 2003, leading it to the award of best performing branch in 2004.

An accomplished academic, Adedeji is a recipient of the prestigious Chevening Scholarship of the UK government, and several other academic awards. Among others, he won the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, UK (CISI) Top Postgraduate Award (2017), CISI Educational Trust Award (2017) and CFA (UK) Award for Outstanding Investment Analysis (2017).

He is a member of several professional associations including Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (Fellow), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (Associate), Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (Associate) and Association of Certified International Investment Analysts.

A consummate lecturer, for over two decades Adedeji has been a regular training facilitator in Accounting, Finance, Securities, Investment and Economics.

He is currently the Registrar and Chief Executive of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, and is currently studying for a PhD in Accounting and Finance.



Mr. A. D. Adekoje, FCS - Immediate Past President

Mr. Adedapo D. Adekoje is the Immediate Past President/Chairman of Council, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.

He is a versatile, multi-talented executive and business leader with qualitative experience in management, finance, sales, marketing and administration. He has a proven track record of career success, having put in over twenty- five years in building and leading integrated operations of high profile companies.

A graduate of Hull University and East London University, both in the United Kingdom, Adedapo has held various positions in leading companies including MD/Chief Executive Officer, General Manager, Consultant and Senior Marketing Manager. He is proficient in re-engineering and restructuring companies to boost sales and profitability.

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Adedapo has served the institute diligently over the years as a member of the governing Council,  Chairman of Annual Conference Committee, 2nd Vice President, 1st  Vice President and President, among others.

An investment and securities guru, Adedapo has vast experience in global capital market operations. In addition, he has built and nurtured client/business relationships throughout his career and has established a robust network of business associates all around the globe.

Experienced in all facets of sales and marketing as well as process, productivity and quality improvement, he is skilled in developing, introducing and expanding new product lines into a competitive market place. He also has in-depth knowledge in conceptualizing and developing business opportunities and marketing strategies to help organisations maximize growth opportunities.

A proactive leader and motivator, he loves to mentor young people and takes great pride in supporting them to develop their skills and talents in order to maximise their potentials.

Mr. O. E. Abe, FCS - Past President

Oluwaseyi Abe is the Managing Director / CEO of Magnartis Finance & Investments Limited (Member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange) and one of the most structured players in the Nigerian Capital Market with regional market operations that cut across emerging African markets. Prior to this engagement, Seyi was the Chief Investment Officer of AIICO Pension Managers Limited. He started his career and garnered considerable experience in Issuing House / Capital Market operations in the then Leadbank / Lead Capital (Member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange), where he was the Chief Dealer.

He has over 24 years Investment Banking experience spanning across Money and Capital markets, Treasury and Investment Banking. Asset management, Corporate Finance, wealth creation and Pension management.

Oluwaseyi has a B.Sc degree from the University of Ife, an MSc from the University of Lagos .He also holds an MBA degree.Seyi is a Fellow of the the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers.  He is an alumnus of the Pan African University (aka Lagos Business School – LBS), New York Institute of Finance. He is on the board of many organizations and consults both locally and internationally. Seyi is an accomplished Investment Banker, a serial investor and very active operator in the financial market landscape

Seyi is widely traveled and has quite uncanny networking capabilities.

Dr. KWAIRANGA, Umaru, BSc. (Hons), MBA, MSc, FCS, FCIP, FIoD

Dr. Umaru Kwairanga is a experienced Corporate Executive and technocrat who is versed in Governance, Finance and Investments. He has over Twenty Five years cognate experience at the highest levels of the Banking, Pension, Investment, Manufacturing and Commercial Sectors of Nigeria’s Economy.

He is currently, Chairman Axamansard Pensions PFA; Director Jaiz Bank Plc, Director Kano Electricity Distribution Company (Kano Disco) GMD & CEO Finmal Finance Services Limited etc. Also, Fellow & Council member of the Institute of Directors (IOD), Fellow & Council member of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers; Fellow and President/Chairman of Council Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria.

Mr Kwairanga served on the Board of Ashaka Cement Plc for over ten years, first as a Director later as Chairman of the Board; Former Director in Lafarge Africa Plc, Central Securities Clearing System Limited (CSCS) and FBN Mortgages Ltd.

He holds higher degrees in Business Administration, Governance and Finance from reputable Universities in Nigeria and the United Kingdom and have also attended high level courses in Corporate Governance, the capital market and investment in world class institutions including Harvard Business School, New York Institute of Finance, Hawthorne Business School, the University of Philadephia. Also, Doctor of Bus Admin (Honoris) from Igbinedion University Okada, Edo State, Member Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).

Dr. Kwairanga has been involved in policy and strategy formation in both Private and Public sectors through my involvement in the Vision 2020, Presidential Advisory Committee (PAC) on the Nigerian Industrial Revolution Plan (NIRP), as well as being a former council member of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).


He holds a Master’s degree economist with a second-class upper division in the first degree.

He was the best graduating student in both the Associateship examinations of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (1997) and Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (2004) respectively;

He is an outstanding and highly resourceful person with strong presentation and analytical skills;

He worked in Financial Derivatives Company, a leading economic research and financial advisory institution as head, economic research and financial advisory;

He has experience in asset management, portfolio construction & management, stock investing, equity investment analysis, forecasting and economic research;

He sets up and managed the Research & Business Development of FBN (Merchant Bankers) Limited as well as a one-time Fund Manager of the FBN Heritage Fund and Asset Management Group of FBN Capital;

He is exposed to top-level management and strategic policy formulation and business analysis;

He featured at C-level corporate audiences teaching corporate renewal, strategy formulation and corporate motivation;

Mr. Oni was Managing Director & Chief Executive of FBN Securities Limited, a securities trading and finance house subsidiary of FBN Capital Limited for 4 years.  He is a Fellow of the Leadership for Environment and Development (LEAD Inc.) [] where he has been involved in developing initiatives in the areas of business and investment sustainability.

He is currently Co-Owner and Deputy Managing Director of Fund Quest Financial Services Limited, an upscale Financial Intermediation and Business Advisory company.


Mr. Oye Oyewole is the Managing Director/CEO of Pyramid Securities Ltd. Between 22 November, 2004 and 31 October, 2011, he was General Manager/Chief Operating Officer of the Company.

He obtained National Diploma in Finance & Banking from The Federal Polytechnic, Bida;  B.Sc (Hons) in Finance from University of Ilorin, Ilorin and MBA from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife.

He is an Associate Member of The Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria; Associate Member of Nigerian Institute of Management; Fellow, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and Authorised Dealing Clerk of The Nigerian Stock Exchange.

He is a member of the Governing Council of Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (since April, 2012) and has been the Institute’s Chairman, Annual Dinner and Awards Committee (2012 & 2013) and Chairman, Continuing Professional Development Committee-CPD (since 2014).

Oye previously worked in various capacities with Union Bank of Nigeria Plc; Central Bank of Nigeria; Supra Investments Ltd; Wolray Nigeria Ltd; First Atlantic Securities Ltd and Integrated Trust & Investments Ltd.

Mrs Nkoli Edoka (MBA, MA, ANIM, FCS. ACSI) FCS 928

Mrs Nkoli Edoka Is an experienced Investment Professional with over 15 years of progressive experience in the Capital Market and Investments. Key area of expertise includes: General Finance, Financial Advisory, Securities Dealing and Asset Management. She holds a Masters degree in Investments & Finance with pathway in Investment Banking & Capital Market from London School of Business & Finance & Masters in Business Administration and Management majoring in Finance from Lagos State University.

Prior to joining Cowry Asset Management Limited in 2012 as the MD/CEO of the Securities Arm and presently Divisional Head Retail Banking, Nkoli worked in various capacities with IDEAL Securities and Investment Limited between 2004 – 2007 as a Marketing Executive, Operations, portfolio manager and authorized Securities Dealer, and later moved to Primewealth Capital Limited in 2007 through 2012 as the Head, Capital Market and Head of Business Development & Securities Trading. She also worked at Afri-united Services Limited (Maritime) between 2000 – 2004 as Finance personnel and Nigerian Ports Authority (Abuja)          between 1999 – 2000 as Corp Member in Admin Department.

Nkoli has undergone many International Training/courses and currently functions as a Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), National Advisory Committee Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment (CISI) UK., Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, an Associate Member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (chartered) and Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria etc.

Nkoli has a proven track record in linking corporate vision to the delivery of desired results through people empowerment and the effective use of resources, processes and technologies. She has demonstrated ability to plan, develop and manage investments with a keen focus on maximizing gains while maintaining appropriate risk tolerance levels.

Nkoli is a strong motivator and supervisor with effective leadership, communication, decision making, problem solving and interpersonal skills, together with a bottom-line corporate focus and a results-driven attitude.


Akeem is the Deputy General Manager and Head, Global Sales & Director, Global Markets Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc.

He was formally the Executive Director and later non-Executive Director of Equity Brokerage division of Stanbic IBTC Brokerage.

He is a graduate of the University of Lagos and holds Masters Degree in Business Administration.  He had his secondary education at Offa Grammar School.

Mr. Akeem Oyewale is a Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), a Fellow, Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, (CIS), an Associate, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).

He is a Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS).


Mr. Oscar Onyema is the Chief Executive Officer of The Nigerian Stock Exchange, a position he assumed in April 2011. Prior to this role, he served for over 20 years in United States financial markets and the Nigerian Information Technology sector. Mr. Onyema is the Chairman of Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Limited, the clearing house for the Nigerian capital market.  He is also a Council member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers of Nigeria (CIS). He is the Vice President of the African Securities Exchanges Association, and a Global Agenda Council member of the World Economic Forum.

In 2009, Mr. Onyema founded Market Strategists LLC and consulted under the Gerson Lehrman Group in the United States, successfully enabling decision-makers at investment firms and corporations better understand financial products, services, companies, and issues in global financial markets. Mr. Onyema served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at American Stock Exchange (AMEX) which he joined in 2001. He was the first person of colour to hold that position, and was instrumental in integrating the AMEX equity business into the NYSE Euronext equity business after their acquisition of AMEX in 2008. He then managed the NYSE Amex equity trading business, which he helped position as a premier market for small and mid cap securities.

For approximately five years, Mr. Onyema served as Adjunct Lecturer of Economics at Pace University, New York. In 2008, he received the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 7, 24 and 63 brokerage licenses through Seamount Execution Services LLC, a FINRA member firm in New York.

He remains active in the Security Traders Association of New York, and in the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, USA. In the late 1990s, he held various positions at New York Mercantile Exchange where he managed futures market structure initiatives.

He started his post-NYSC career in Nigeria at Data Processing Maintenance and Services Ltd. (an IBM business partner) where he sold mid-range IBM systems.

Mr. Onyema holds an MBA in Finance and Investments from Baruch College, New York. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria.

Mr. Garba, Kasimu Kurfi, FCS

Mr. Garba, Kasimu Kurfi is a Chartered Stockbroker with extensive knowledge and experience in  Securities Dealing and Asset Management and is the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of APT Securities and Funds Limited.

He is a Fellow of the  Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Institute of  Chartered Accountants, and an Associate member of Certified Pension Institutes of Nigeria. He was an elected member of The Nigerian Stock Exchange from 2010 to 2014.

Mr. Garba Kurfi is equally a seasoned investment manager with over fifteen years of Capital Markets experience, he worked  with NEWDEVCO Investment and Securities Limited from 1994 to 2002 and New  African Merchant Bank Limited between 1992 – 1994.

Mr. Garba has a Master’s degree in  Accounting from  University of Lagos in 1997 and had earlier obtained his Bsc in Accounting with 2nd Class Upper Division from Bayero University in 1987.

Mr. Garba, Kasimu Kurfi is a Director at the under listed companies.




He started his career in Prudent Merchant Bank Ltd in 1990 and later moved to Options Securities Ltd in 1993 before joining Kinley Securities Ltd as the pioneer General Manager in 1997.

In 2001, he moved to Valmon Securities Limited as General Manager.  He held this position from 2001 to 2012.  In November 2012, he was made the Managing Director of Valmon Securities Ltd; a position he is still holding till date.

A Chartered Stockbroker with over 20 year’s hands-on experience in the Capital Market at an executive level.  He holds BA(Hons) Degree in English  from University of Ibadan (1985), Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from University of Ibadan (1996) and MBA from Edo State University, now Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma (1999). He  became an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers in January 1995 and was admitted as a Fellow of the same Institute in August 2010.

He attended various courses on Capital Market Operations both in Nigeria and Overseas.  He attended a Course on Trading in Foreign Currencies/Indices with Henyep Investment (Europe) Ltd in London, U.K between November and December 2000.  He was also at Mac Robinson College of Business, Georgia State University, Atlanta, USA where he attended a training programme in Integrated Leadership and Business Simulations June 2008.

He served the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers as an examiner from 2008 to 2013.  He also served on the Education Committee of the Institute from 2013 to 2014.  He is currently a Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, serving both at Investigative and Membership Committees.’


Mrs. Ebi is a seasoned investment banker of high repute. She is the first female stockbroker licensed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, first female founder of an investment banking firm in Nigeria, as well as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS).

She had heracademic foundation with a first class B.Sc. Degree in Business/Health Administration (Magna Cum Laude) from New York University and obtained an MBA (Finance and Investment) from the George Washington University, USA, in 1980.She is a graduate of the International Banking Summer School, Cambridge University, UK, and has over the years acquired in-depth and broad knowledge as well as extensive professional experience in finance and investment management in both the Nigerian and US financial markets.

Mrs Ebi is the GMD/CEO of Futureview Financial Services Limited. She was previously the MD/CEO of Futureview Securities Ltd established in 1996, before the holding Company was formed in 2008 to oversee the group’s wider interest in Investment Banking, Oil & Gas, and Agro-Allied sectors of the economy as well as the Commodities and Currency markets.

Mrs. Ebi is an expert in the structuring, documentation, securitization, marketing of capital market issues and asset & liability management.

She serves on the Board of several companies and institutions including PZ Cussons NigeriaPlc,Redeemers University of Nigeria, African Missions Global, and also as Special Trustee in Africa to the European Economic Development Council (EEDC).

Over the years, she has won several laudable awards for her contribution in the Nigerian Capital Market including her induction into the Nigeria Women Hall of Fame by the National Centre for Women Development, Abuja in 2008.

Fiona Ahmed AHIMIE, ACS

Mrs Fiona Ahmed Ahimie is passionate about what she does, she has great interpersonal skills and a smart, hardworking, intelligent, well-coordinated and honest Securities and Investment Professional who is equally keen on taking on challenges, constantly raising the bar to be better and making the best of all circumstances to add value.

Fiona is an experienced Securities and Investment Professional who started her career with Axial Ventures Limited in July 2005 as a Stock Analyst, Financial Advisor and  Accounts/ Investment Manager. She worked with FBN Capital Limited-A subsidiary of the First Bank of Nigeria Group between January 2014 to April 2015  as the Head of Sales Trading and sales team Mate (International /Local Institutional Clients) and later joined African Alliance Stockbrokers Limited-A subsidiary of the African Alliance Group SA between May 2015 to April 2016 as the MD/CEO. In 2010 Fiona was appointed the Deputy Head of Sales Trading (International /Local Institutional Clients) by Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers Limited – A subsidiary of the Standard Bank Group. Prior to this appointment, Fiona was the Senior Analyst/Deputy head of Asset Management Department of Lead Capital Plc (Lead Securities & Investment Limited.

Fiona is currently the Managing Director of FBNQuest Securities Limited

She has also attended a number of courses, local and international on behavioural, managerial and financial analysis.

Fiona graduated from Lagos State University, Nigeria with B.Sc. Accounting, Second Class Upper (2’1) in 2005 and holds an MBA in Business Administration from Lagos Business School.

Fiona is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Associate Member of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ACA) and Associate, Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT)


Prof. Asaolu was born on the 19th November, 1962.

He attended primary and secondary schools in Ibadan and sat for the WASCE in 1980.

He worked briefly as an Accounts Clerk with Radio Nigeria before proceeding to the then University of Ife in 1983 to study Accounting and graduated in 1987.

He was employed by OAU in 1989 as an Internal Auditor 2, and having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in November 1992, his appointment was transferred to the Department of Management and Accounting in 1993 as a Lecturer One.

He completed his PG. D (Computer Science) in 1990, MBA in 1993, M. Phil in 2001 and Ph. D in 2004.

He was promoted Senior Lecturer in 1996, Reader in 2005 and Professor of Accounting in 2008.

He is the first Professor of Accounting of Obafemi Awolowo University.

He served as Head, Department of Management and Accounting and Coordinator, Executive MBA Programme for 5 years between 2008 and 2014.

He was elected to serve as the Dean, Faculty of Administration between 2014 and 2016.

He has published over 60 journal articles and textbooks covering different areas of Accounting, Management and Entrepreneurs.

Prof. Asaolu is currently a Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and once served as a member of the Governing Board of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON).

Professor Taiwo Asaolu has visited countries like USA, UK, Singapore, China, Canada, India, South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Ghana, Gambia, Senegal, UAE, etc.

He has successfully supervised more than 30 Ph. D holders and over 200 M. Sc/ M. Phil graduates. 6 of his Ph. D students are full professors today to the glory of God.

Professor Asaolu is married, has 6 children and 4 grandchildren.


Mr. I .B. Tilde is a chartered accountant and a chartered  stockbroker with over 20 years of experience in capital market regulation .He holds a Bachelor degree in Accounting(1987) and MBA(2005) from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

Mr. Tilde started his working career with the Bauchi State Ministry of Finance as an Accountant in 1988.  He joined the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in 1991 as a Financial Analyst.  He has worked in several departments such as the Finance and Accounts, Internal Control, Collective Investment Department, Recognized Registration &Investment Exchanges.  Also he worked in Securities &Investment Services Department and currently the head of Monitoring Department of the Commission.

He is a member of Rules Committee of SEC and Harmonization and Coordinating Sub-Committee of the Financial Services Regulation & Coordinating Committee (FSRCC).Mr. Tilde is an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) and the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).  He is also a member of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).

Babatunde Majiyagbe BSc. in Computer Science, MSc and CertICM

Babatunde Majiyagbe is the Executive Director for Stanbic IBTC Nominees Limited, a subsidiary of Stanbic IBTC Bank and a member of the Standard Bank Group.

He is currently responsible for the Product Management agenda focusing on Project delivery, Market advocacy, Risk Management and future growth strategy for the Investor Services business.

He has over 12 years’ experience in Transactional Banking, Information & Communications Technology, Product Management, Cash Management with specialization in liquidity management, Payments & working capital optimization. His technical skills have enabled him Implement complex working capital initiatives, deliver electronic banking Solutions using appropriate Project Management methodologies.

Babatunde has a BSc. in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Managerial Psychology from the University of Lagos. He is also an executive alumnus of the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Boston where he bagged a Certificate in Strategy & Innovation. He also has a Certificate in International Cash Management (CertICM) from the Association of Corporate Treasurers UK (ACT UK). His core competences include Product development, Product Management, Project Management, Risk Management, Sales, Product Innovation etc.

Babatunde is involved in various capital market initiatives including:

  • The eCCI (Electronic Certificate of Capital Importation) Steering committee which saw to the upgrade , digitization & revamping in the process, issuance and management of the Foreign Exchange Control tool
  • Member of Focus Group of CEOs of Dealing Member Firms who are looking at creating more liquidity in the Capital Market leveraging Securities Lending and Short Selling. He led the team responsible for the first Securities Lending transactions in Nigeria in December 2017
  • Project Managed an effort by the Settlement Bank working with the FMDQ OTC Exchange in creating an alternate Fixed Income Securities market for smaller financial institutions called the Dealing Member Specialists (DMS) initiative.
  • Played a key role in the Proof of concept with the Depository (CSCS) to use Blockchain for Corporate Action announcements. Member of the Focus Group on Market-wide Know Your Customer (KYC) amongst others.

He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), Member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers UK (ACT UK) and Council Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS).

He loves reading, running, photography and hiking. He recently summited “Uhuru” on the top of Mountain Kilimanjaro; the highest peak in Africa.
